AWARDS and NOMINATIONS

TV Prize Kristallen Nomination (2023) for the TV show Typisk Romer.

Biography

TV Prize Kristallen nominated (2023) actor, producer and author Louie Marti is Swedish/Spanish with gypsy roots. He is currently based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Louie has a tough and colorful background as he was born and raised in a gypsy family that traveled between Sweden and Spain. In Sweden he lived in the poor suburbs of Stockholm among high-rise concrete buildings stacked closely together, and in Spain he thrived in the always traveling gypsy circus family (which included his proudly bank robbing grandmother, and a father who found his true calling and became a priest).

Louie was introduced to boxing at the tender age of 12, which was around the same time he started his first company having neighborhood kids running errands. Louie’s natural acting skills combined with a huge dose of charm and resourcefulness, gave him the status as the local Robin Hood. His multicultural upbringing also awarded him with a multilingual tongue. This has been useful in many settings, including in his acting career. Louie has played roles like a Russian mafia boss (Syrror 2017), an arab (Tunna Blå Linjen 2021) and an Italian (Ture Sventon och jakten på ungdomens källa 2023).

Louie’s first work as a combined producer and actor was in the successful movie Ingen Angel (2019). Ingen Angel became the most viewed film at SVT during 2019, and created massive headlines. Fun fact: This movie made him write his book Ingen Angel (2023) by popular demand.

Louie recently published his first work as an author with his self-biography, Ingen Angel, (2023). Ingen Angel is the story of Louie’s life, from his tough childhood living with his Romani family in Rinkeby to how he left the criminal world behind in order to chase a dream few believe he had the right to own. The book became an instant hit and turned overnight into a number 1 bestseller already at pre-release.

His latest TV show Typisk Romer (2023) where Louie was both producing and acting, became a huge success with the audience, awarding him with a TV Price Kristallen nomination (and runner up for the award).
