Biography
Malick “Miq” Afocozi is an Actor, Artist, Musical Artist, Songwriter. Born and raised in Stockholm with heritage from Togo and Benin in West Africa.
Miq is basically an educated dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School (since age of 9) in Stockholm, and studied theater at Jakobsbergs Gymnasium. Immediately after graduation Malick began working as an Artist in Spain and started appearing in several commercials and Music videos.
The foundation as a dancer and actor has become Malick’s signature in his work in the various niches of culture and media. Most recently as the role of “Latif” in Sveriges Television’s new crime drama “Detective from Beledweyne”, the lead role “Dawit Isaak” in Sveriges Television’s Svenska Nyheter, as a show artist for the past 8 years and at the famous and biggest Musical stages around Sweden since 2016.
Productions in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Mallorca, Finland, Sweden and modeling in Los Angeles is on his experience list.
In recent years, Malick has worked on a full-time contract as a musical artist as an ensemble and own roles at the China Teatern (“Book of Mormon” & “GHOST”), the Gothenburg Opera (“Cabaret”). This summer 2023 he will be seen in one of the lead roles in the new written musical “Kling” at Forsviks Bruks Theater and in Autumn 2023 will he plays the lead role as LOLA (written to Billy Porter in the original play at Broadway 2013) in the musical : “Kinky Boots” at SäffleOperan.
