Biography
Mathias was born in Sweden in 1983. His mother from Sweden and his father from Tanzania. Growing up in a mixed raced home with many siblings made him look at the world from a different angle. Even though he was born in Sweden and had Swedish as one of his native languages, he was often looked at as an outsider. After many attempts to fit in Mathias realised that no matter how hard he tried he would probably never fit in. What he saw as his biggest weakness would later in life become one of his biggest strengths.
Growing up in a small town in Southern Sweden, Mathias quickly had to deal with racism in all shapes and forms. Music, sports and acting helped him get through all those tough moments in life. He felt like that was something no one could take away from him. That’s when he felt the most powerful.
Mathias started dancing and playing instruments at a very young age. And he quickly realised that this would be one of his many passions in life. Further down the line he also fell in love with basketball which he played for many years, and then came the music and the acting. That was when he understood that there where many artforms in which he could express himself in. He fell in love with the feeling of connecting to the audience and making them feel what he felt when he was performing.
Mathias has always dreamt of becoming a voice for the voiceless. As a black man he knows how big of a role representation plays in a young persons life. That is something he will always fight for.
