Biography
Daysury is a Swedish actress and artist with Colombian roots, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. In October 2026, she stars as Sila in the short hybrid documentary If your hair could talk, what would it say? (written and directed by Esther Fatuma Irakoze), screening at the Uppsala Short Film Festival and Cinema Africa Film Festival. She previously played Kristina in Patrik Eklund’s award-winning short film JAG ÄR ELDEN (I am the Fire), which premiered internationally at Aspen Shortsfest in 2023 before winning the Audience Award at the Draken Film Festival in 2024.
Following her graduation from Angered Theatre School in 2020, Daysury made her way to the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) in The Famished Road as part of the community choir—a groundbreaking production featuring Dramaten’s first all-Black ensemble. She went on to make her debut at Backa Theatre in her largest role to date as Mariam in Nationen.
In her upcoming project, she plays Cassandra in the feature drama-thriller Slynglarna (Sãp), written and directed by Alecio Araci.
Daysury has worked across television, film, music videos, and art projects since her teenage years, both in front of and behind the camera. She is trilingual- speaks native Swedish, fluent English, and conversational Spanish, alongside a background as a former soccer player, dancer, and gospel singer. Dedicated to expanding representation for the African diaspora, Daysury is passionate about creating and participating in projects the industry desperately needs—untold stories from the global majority.
